First Aid at Work 3 Day (HSE approved course)

This course is ideal for people requiring Full First Aid at Work status, usually in medium to large premises or with higher risk workplaces, as an initial course or for someone that no longer holds a valid certificate.

3 Days comprehensive training with a relaxed atmosphere that is designed to promote confidence and give a greater knowledge in Basic life saving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations.

The syllabus includes:

  • Health and safety (first aid) regulations
  • Managing an incident
  • The priorities of first aid
  • Common workplace injuries.
  • Accidents and illness
  • Using a first aid kit
  • Simple record keeping
  • Treatment of an unconscious casualty
  • Heart attacks
  • Resuscitation
  • Shock
  • Choking
  • Bleeding
  • Burns and scalds
  • Poisoning
  • Fractures
  • Seizures
  • Asthma
  • Severe allergic reaction
  • Eye injuries
  • Low blood sugar
  • Fainting

A certificate that is valid for a period of three years is issued to students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard.

This course is legally compliant with the current Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations 1981. Upon successful completion of this three day course, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practise for three years after which a re-qualification course becomes necessary. It is strongly recommended that you update your skills by taking an annual refresher.

Cost
£160 per person inclusive, when run at your venue. This includes HSE certification and a manual for each student.

We will provide you with early notification of any certificate expiry dates; this allows you the convenience and time to book staff and future courses with plenty of notice.

With our extensive experience of running Emergency Services exercises we can offer mini-exercises that are designed to refresh and challenge your First Aiders. We will issue a written report identifying all of the positives and development needs.
